NFDA holds two types of board elections each year:
Officer Elections (President-elect, Treasurer, Secretary): All eligible NFDA members vote. If a seat is contested, an electronic election runs for a 14-day period, typically in June. Candidates are profiled in The Director — officers in the June issue, At-large Representatives in the July issue.
At-large Representative Elections: At-large Representatives are elected during the Voting Forum at the Leadership Conference. State Association Representatives cast votes on behalf of their state associations.
Results are announced following the election period, and the new leadership year begins at the conclusion of the NFDA International Convention & Expo.
