Advocacy Efforts: Key Legislative and Regulatory Issues  From the FTC Funeral Rule to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits for veterans’ and their families to formaldehyde regulation, NFDA is at the table on the issues that matter most. When Congress needs to understand how legislation would affect funeral service, they call NFDA. When families of veterans need help navigating burial benefits, our relationships at the VA can help resolve issues quickly. This work is ongoing, bipartisan and focused entirely on protecting your ability to serve families well.

The NFDA Political Action Committee (PAC) plays a vital role in ensuring funeral service has a strong, credible voice in Washington, D.C. Through the PAC, NFDA builds and maintains relationships with members of Congress who are shaping the laws and policies that affect funeral homes, small businesses and the families you serve. Contributions are used on a bipartisan basis to support lawmakers who understand and engage with issues important to funeral service. *Contributions or gifts to NFDA PAC are not tax deductible and are limited by federal law to $5,000 per person, per year. In accordance with federal law, contributions are strictly voluntary and not a condition of NFDA membership. All personal contributions to NFDA PAC are used in support of candidates for federal office. Corporate contributions cannot be used in support of candidates for federal office and are attributed to NFDA’s Political Education Fund.
