Wellabe Introduces Customizable Critical-Illness Insurance in 14 States

Wellabe launched a new critical-illness insurance product in 14 states to protect the well-being of customers who suffer from a heart attack, a stroke, cancer or other critical illness. Critical-illness insurance plans are available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

Underwritten by Medico Insurance Company, Wellabe’s critical-illness insurance provides customizable coverage for individuals, couples and families that pays a lump-sum cash benefit.

Customers will choose between the Cancer and Cancer in Situ or the Heart Attack and Stroke base policies, then select from several optional riders to build their customized coverage package. The riders offered can provide payouts for skin cancer diagnoses; radiation and chemotherapy treatments; and specified diseases such as blindness, deafness, end-stage renal failure or major organ failure that requires specialized treatment. Policyholders also can select options to restore coverage if they fully recover from their initial diagnosis. Wellabe.com
