The Conference Seeks Volunteers for Job Task Analysis Committee

The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards is seeking volunteers for its Job Task Analysis Committee. The Conference periodically conducts a nationwide survey to identify the knowledge, skills and tasks required of today’s funeral directors and embalmers. This ensures the National Board Examination is a reflection of current practices. The Conference is looking for licensed practitioners who are willing to share their experience and expertise as part of this important process. No prior exam- development experience is required, and travel expenses are covered.

Volunteer requirements include:

  • Passing grades on both the Arts and Sciences sections of the National Board Examination
  • Current licensure and good standing as a funeral director and embalmer
  • Understanding of technology and applications, including Zoom
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in person and remotely
  • Ability to commit to both in-person meetings: October 13-15, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, and April 20-21, 2027 (location TBD)
  • Commitment to security and willingness to sign a nondisclosure agreement
