Starmark Appoints Cook as VP of Business Development, Acquires Chateau Urns

Starmark recently appointed Dan Cook as vice president of business development. He joined the company in 2023 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology.

Said Cook about his new position: “I’m honored to serve funeral professionals through Starmark. Having a background in sales, accounting and finance, I see so many ways that Starmark can improve funeral service.”

He added: “I love working with the Starmark team, who [shares] the common goal of helping families navigate loss and [honor] their loved ones through funeral service. What I have found most rewarding is developing strong relationships with funeral professionals and helping them do better.”

Also, Starmark acquired Chateau Urns, based in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The addition of the Chateau Urns line expands Starmark’s range of funeral products and provides customers with more urn solutions.

Chateau Urns was established alongside a cigar humidor company in 2009 and became a family-owned and -operated business in 2016. Said Brandi Combs, former owner of Chateau Urns: “At the start of Chateau Urns, my primary focus was to create a meaningful product that would play a role in people’s most significant moments. We used high-quality materials, developed unique designs and aimed to build a brand that was not just a business but a name that people could trust when they wanted to commemorate a loved one.”

In the coming months, Starmark plans to build on the reputation Chateau Urns has already established in funeral service. Combs will continue to serve funeral professionals as a Starmark local account representative for the Florida region. starmarkcp.com
