Beginning this year, the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) will present its new Rising Star Award, which recognizes early-career professionals who are employed by an OGR-member firm and demonstrate exceptional promise, leadership and dedication to the funeral service profession.

Award recipients will be celebrated during the Golden Circle Awards Celebration at OGR’s
PROGRESS event, May 5-7, in Louisville, Kentucky.

In other news, the International Order of the Golden Rule Foundation closed its Awards of Excellence scholarship application. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to six mortuary science students who distinguish themselves through their academic performance, community involvement, and commitment to serving with compassion, fairness and dignity.

This year’s top scholarship recipient also will receive complimentary registration, travel and accommodations for OGR’s PROGRESS event. OGR.org
