Doric Products Inc. recently completed its first custom columbarium installation at Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, one of America’s oldest and most historic rural garden cemeteries. To ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship, the custom columbaria were constructed at the Doric facility in Corbin, Kentucky, under the supervision of experienced artisans. The final units reflect both modern functionality and a timeless aesthetic that complement Woodland’s setting.
Founded in 1841, Woodland serves as a cultural, botanical and educational landmark in the heart of Dayton, Ohio. Its Romanesque gateway, chapel and administrative office are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the 200-acre arboretum features more than 3,000 trees. The cemetery is the final resting place of more than 112,000 individuals, including prominent figures such as aviation pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright, poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, politician James M. Cox, humorist Erma Bombeck, and inventor Charles F. Kettering.
Doric President Jim Wiens remarked on the broader significance of the installation. “Our columbarium line is designed with today’s families in mind – balancing tradition with the needs of contemporary memorialization,” he said. “Using premium materials and skilled craftsmanship, we aim to create spaces that will be valued for generations.” doric-vaults.com
