Selected Independent Funeral Homes will hold its 107th Annual Meeting at The Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 28-October 1. During the event, participants can network with colleagues, attend educational sessions and obtain valuable continuing-education (CE) credit. In addition, the association will induct its new board members and recognize the contributions of outgoing officers.
Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Kirk Lippold, the keynote speaker, will present “Leadership and Accountability When It Matters.” Lippold, who was serving as commanding officer of the U.S.S. Cole during a fatal terrorist attack in October 2000, will draw from his experience to convey how integrity creates a diverse and inclusive environment for leadership.
During the general session, representatives of The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center will present “A Culture of Excellence: Building Success From Within.” The presenters will share best practices for activating and sustaining a culture where valued and empowered employees own the customer experience.
Additional highlights include:
• Up to 10 hours of CE credit approved by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and states requiring CE (approvals vary by state)
• Recognition of the association’s Membership Milestone anniversaries
• Recognition of the Selected Educational Trust’s Ambassador of the Year award winners
