Think you know funeral service? It’s time to prove it.

The 2026 Funeral Face-Off is coming back to the NFDA International Convention & Expo with a fresh new format that blends funeral service knowledge with pop culture, making this year’s competition more fun and accessible than ever before.

While contestants can still expect a few technical questions, the competition now features categories like funeral history, famous deaths in pop culture, funeral traditions from around the world, and funeral service in television, movies and music. Whether you’re a trivia buff, a movie fan or simply enjoy a little friendly competition, there’s something for everyone.

The competition begins with preliminary rounds held online before the 2026 NFDA International Convention & Expo. The top teams will advance to the live semifinal and championship rounds in Charlotte on October 26 and 27, where they’ll compete for bragging rights, prizes and the coveted Precoa Cup, generously sponsored by Precoa.

Don’t have a team? No problem. Individuals are welcome to register and will be matched with teammates.
