9 - 9:45 a.m. CT
During this free Facebook Live Event, you’ll learn about the impact physical distancing and grieving in isolation have on families that have experienced the death of a loved one during this pandemic. Our experts, Bill Hoy, DMin, FT, and Becky Lomaka, MA, CT, will share strategies for better understanding grieving families and how you can guide them in their grief during these unprecedented times.
Bill and Becky will also explore the importance of honoring the life of a loved one shortly after death and the critical role you play in helping family members and friends do so. Learn how you can comfort grieving families during a time when physical distancing requirements prevent you from sharing a hug or even a handshake, and, despite these obstacles, how you can help family and friends begin their grief journey.
Your Experts:
- Dr. William G. (Bill) Hoy, DMin, FT has more than 35 years of experience in caring for the dying and bereaved and is Clinical Professor of Medical Humanities at Baylor. - Becky Lomaka, MA, CT, is Director of Grief Support and Education at O’Connor Mortuary, with a determined passion to bring education, encouragement, and validation to the professional and volunteer communities in which we interact.
