For Immediate Release: August 22, 2014
Brookfield, Wis. – The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) has released a Spanish-language translation of the popular "Art of Facial Reconstruction" ("El Arte del Reconstrucción Facial") textbook by Gary Sokoll. This is the second Spanish-language translation of a technical skills textbook that NFDA has published; last year, the association released a translation of the profession's premier embalming text book "Embalming: History, Theory, and Practice" ("Embalsamamiento: Historia, Teoría y Prâctica") by Robert G. Mayer.
"NFDA is pleased to provide funeral professionals who speak Spanish with textbooks in their native language. It fills an important need for funeral professionals in Central and South America and other parts of the world and helps them meet the needs of the families they serve," said NFDA International Project Manager Corey Eggers.
Sokoll's textbook offers step-by-step instructions for reconstructing the nose, mouth, eyes and ears when a decedent has experienced trauma to the face or when decomposition is present.
"El Arte del Reconstrucción Facial" by Gary Sokoll can be purchased through NFDA by members for $75 USD; the nonmember purchase price is $105 USD. To order the book, funeral professionals should call NFDA at +1 262-798-1880 and ask to speak with a member services representative; the text can also be ordered online through the NFDA Resource Store. "Embalsamamiento: Historia, Teoría y Prâctica" by Robert G. Mayer can also be ordered through the NFDA Resource Store or by calling NFDA (cost: $124.95).
The translation of "El Arte del Reconstrucción Facial" was made possible by a grant from the Heritage Club.
