For Immediate Release: December 15, 2015
Brookfield, Wis. – The staff of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) will make Christmas bright and merry for a local family.
"For more than 20 years, the NFDA staff have 'adopted' a local family during the Christmas season," said NFDA CEO Christine Pepper, CAE. "Each of us have been blessed in so many ways this year. This is our way of helping a local family experience the same warmth and happiness of the season that we will be enjoying with family and friends in the days to come."
The staff have adopted a hard-working, young single mother and her five children – two sons, ages 10 and five months, and three daughters, ages nine, four and two – from Sussex, Wisconsin. The mother is doing everything she can to make life better each day for herself and her children, who are still young enough to believe in the magic of Christmas.
NFDA was connected to their family through Sussex Outreach Services in Sussex, Wisconsin, whose mission is to meet the immediate and long-term needs of individuals and families by providing food, informational resources, client advocacy and general assistance.
NFDA is the world's leading and largest funeral service association, serving 19,700 individual members who represent more than 10,000 funeral homes in the United States and 39 countries around the world. NFDA is the trusted leader, beacon for ethics and the strongest advocate for the profession. NFDA is the association of choice because it offers funeral professionals comprehensive educational resources, tools to manage successful businesses, guidance to become pillars in their communities and the expertise to foster future generations of funeral professionals.
