Brookfield, Wis. – To help members find balance between a fulfilling career and meaningful life outside of the funeral home, the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) is happy to introduce the Work/Life Resource Program (EAP) as a new benefit of membership.
Supporting grieving families and ensuring every detail of their loved one’s service is perfect requires extraordinary effort. Being a funeral director is gratifying work, but it can be physically and mentally taxing.
The Work/Life Resource Program (EAP) is a free hotline staffed by experts who can suggest resources and offer support to help make life outside of the funeral home a little easier for NFDA members. Whether they want to be proactive and plan for the future, prevent minor issues from becoming big problems, or are having a family emergency, confidential assistance from Work/Life Resource Program (EAP) is available to NFDA members and their immediate family.
“As a business owner, funeral director, husband and father of six children, I understand how difficult it can be to give your all at work and at home,” said NFDA President Ashley Cozine, CFSP, CPC, CCO. “NFDA already provides many tools and resources that help me run my business and be a better funeral director. With the Work/Life Resource Program (EAP), I have a tool to help me make the most of my time with my own family.”
There is no cost to speak with an expert from the Work/Life Resource Program (EAP) – it is a benefit of NFDA membership. All inquiries are confidential in compliance with applicable state and federal privacy laws. Work/Life Resource Program (EAP) services include:
- Speaking with a licensed counselor (stress management, substance abuse, relationships and more); this includes unlimited phone and online consultations and up to three in-person sessions per year
- Online referrals to:
- Care services (adult or child care, summer camps, special needs care, etc.)
- Education services (school information, tutoring, test preparation, etc.)
- Family services (parenting, adoption, pregnancy, infertility, etc.)
- Convenience services (home maintenance and repair, pet care, relocation, community volunteering, etc.)
- Financial information and referrals (saving for college, taxes, family budgeting, retirement planning, etc.)
- Legal information and referrals (divorce, real estate transactions, will preparation, etc.)
- A website with informational articles, tools, webinars, podcasts and more.
