NFDA is pleased to announce the NFDA Leadership Development Committee’s list of qualified candidates for the special election for an at-large representative to the NFDA Board of Directors:
- Alec S. Anderson, CFSP, CCO, Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork, UT
- David W. McComb, Inman Funeral Service, Fort Wayne, IN
- Manuel de Jesus Osorio, Joe Jackson Funeral Chapels, Laredo, TX
- John W. Wenig, Wenig Funeral Homes, Sheboygan Falls, WI
NFDA is conducting this special election for a one-year term of service as an at-large representative. The successful candidate will complete the second year of an unexpired two-year term of service resulting from the resignation of At-large Representative Peter B. “Butch” Mulhearn Jr. The successful candidate’s term of service will begin at the conclusion of the 2017 NFDA International Convention & Expo and conclude at the end of the 2018 convention.
Typically, the Policy Board elects two at-large representatives every year, each for a two-year term of service, so that the terms of the four at-large representatives on the Board of Directors are staggered. NFDA members elect the officers (president-elect, treasurer and secretary) on the Board of Directors.
When an at-large representative position becomes vacant, the NFDA Bylaws provide for a special election at the next NFDA Policy Board meeting to fill the unexpired term. Accordingly, the NFDA Policy Board will elect a new at-large representative, for a one-year term of service, at the October 28, 2017, Policy Board meeting scheduled in conjunction with the 2017 NFDA Convention in Boston.
Meet the candidates.
