Patrick J. "The Cat" O'Neil

third-generation funeral director/embalmer and owner, O'Neil Funeral Home, Lockport, Illinois, died May 1, 2010, at age 76. O'Neil, an Army veteran of the Korean War, graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1957 and took over the funeral home business, then located in Joliet, from his father. He moved the funeral home to Lockport, building a new facility in 1973 and renovating it in 2009. He was a former member of the State of Illinois Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licensing Board and a founding member and board member of Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

He is survived by wife Joyce, children Kimberly and Patrick K., five grandchildren, one great-grandson and a sister.
