CANA Thanks National Funeral Directors Association for COCP

canalogp1The Cremation Association of North America (CANA) recently conducted their Crematory Operator Certification Program (COCP) prior to the start of the annual NFDA convention held in New Orleans on October 9, 2010. Seventeen states, including Hawaii, and two attendees from Nigeria were in attendance to hear the best information on proper cremation operations and litigation issues, as well as having the opportunity to ask CANA's legal counsel Chris Farmer questions regarding the best way to keep from ending up in a courtroom.

COCP chairman Mike Nicodemus was pleased with the turnout and the opportunity NFDA affords CANA to provide this valuable training program prior to the convention. "NFDA supports, and endorses, our program 100 percent, and I can't thank them enough for allowing us to come to their convention and provide as much information as we can in one day. They are a great group to work with, and I appreciate all they do to help us educate anyone dealing with cremation."

CANA will be providing this certification program prior to the Kates-Boylston Funeral Business Forum, held November 17, 2010 at the Palazzo in Las Vegas. Nicodemus said this is one program you don't want to miss. "This will be, without question, the best group assembled to provide our attendees the most up-to-date legal information along with proper operational procedures from the experts at Matthews Cremation Division."
