NFDA Revs-Up for Convention Starting at Leadership Conference
Harley Raffle Tickets go on Sale During Annual Event Brookfield, WIExcitement will be building for the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Annual Convention & Expo during this year's NFDA Leadership Conference. The conference, held July 29-31, 2002, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, will mark the beginning of the NFDA Political Action Committee (PAC) raffle ticket sales. "NFDA's PAC is crucial to our government relations efforts," explains NFDA Chief Executive Officer Christine Pepper. "Money raised through the raffle ticket sales helps us support members of Congress who advocate public policies that benefit funeral directors, funeral service and small business." This year's grand prize is a brand new Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle. Raffle tickets are limited to a total of 1,000 at $100 each, and will be sold at the Leadership Conference, and continue until the NFDA 2002 Annual Convention & Expo, October 20-23, 2002, in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to the motorcycle, cash prizes will be awarded. Also, the grand prize winner may opt for the cash value of the motorcycle in lieu of the actual item. The final drawing will be held at NFDA's Convention on October 23, 2002. Participants do not have to be present to win. Raffle tickets can be purchased beginning at the Leadership Conference through any member of the NFDA Executive Board, NFDA Policy Board, or by calling Debbie Graser, NFDA's government relations secretary, at 800-228-6332. The Harley raffle is not the only NFDA PAC event planned for convention. After the success of last year's silent auction, convention also will host the Second Annual NFDA PAC Silent Auction. Attendees can bid on local and regional arts and crafts, jewelry, food, wine, trips and sports memorabilia. Further details will be sent to all state associations, and NFDA leadership and committee members in the near future. Information also will be included in upcoming convention mailings.
