Bill on Veterans’ Unclaimed Cremated Remains Passes House CommitteePosted May 23, 2012 Thanks to the efforts of NFDA's staff in Washington, D.C., and all of you who were in our nation's capital for the 2012 NFDA Advocacy Summit, a bill that would require the Veterans Administration to assist in identifying and veterans' unclaimed veterans cremated remains held by funeral homes and qualifying them for proper burial or nterment in a VA cemetery with appropriate military funeral honors, was unanimously passed by the House Veterans Affairs Committee earlier this month.
