We are looking for innovative, compelling, and inspirational presentations to help funeral directors improve profitability, provide extraordinary service to families, and run world-class businesses.
Topical Areas:
- Business Strategies – decreasing expenses, disaster planning, eco-friendly funerals and strategies, ethics, human resources, increasing revenues, information technology, intergenerational issues, marketing, preneed, public relations, strategic thinking
- Cemetery – buying/starting/selling a cemetery, combo operations, eco-friendly strategies, fiscal operations, marketing, sales training, staffing
- Cremation – being profitable in the cremation market, buying/starting/selling a crematory, cremation arrangements, cremation liability, crematory operations, cremation marketing
- Innovation – becoming more profitable through innovation
- Regulatory/Compliance – FTC Funeral Rule, EPA, OSHA, wage and hour, legal issues, etc.
- Serving Client Families – end-of-life services, exceptional arrangement tactics, funeral event planning, grief and bereavement, serving families from different cultures and religions
- Technical Skills – cosmetology, embalming based on circumstances (e.g., pandemic, disease, etc.), restoration, trauma embalming.
Deadline for 2010 NFDA Convention and Expo proposals:
December 4, 2009
Format:
Presentations will be one to two hours in length as interactive workshops.
Reimbursement:
NFDA will provide presenters who are selected with complimentary convention registration, evaluation summary, and an audio CD of their program (if applicable).
Presenters are expected to pay travel, lodging, per diem expenses, and special-event fees for themselves and their guests. Guests may register for the convention at the “additional registrant” fee.
Procedure:
- Completely fill out the form below. Please do not use ALL CAPS and check your spelling.
- A JPG or TIF format photo of each presenter must be electronically submitted with the proposal.
- Biographical information must be submitted for all presenters.
- Only required information will be reviewed.
- The NFDA Professional Development Committee will review and select presentations based on the following criteria:
- The quality, relevance, and timeliness of the presentation topic
- The professional background and speaking experience of the presenter.
- Previous presentation evaluations, as applicable.
- You will be notified via email regarding the status of your proposal by March 30, 2010. Please do not call NFDA: information cannot be given over the telephone.
