OHSA's Revised Respiratory Protection Standard 1910.134
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published its revised Respiratory Protection Standard on January 8, 1998. Although the standard does not specifically target funeral service, a funeral home could be subject to the revised standard if it is determined that respirators are necessary to protect the health of the firm's employees against atmospheric contamination during removals and preparations or in emergency situations.
OSHA's Revised Respiratory Protection Standard 1910.134 discusses the standard and how your business could be affected. It was written by Edward M. Rainier, NFDA's specialty counsel for occupational safety and health.
