Cleaning up the Barrel
“A special message to funeral directors about the renewed congressional interest in funeral service practices”
It is often interesting how things get done in Washington, D.C. – or even brought to the attention of lawmakers. In December, 2001, U.S. Representative Mark Foley was outraged when some of the people in his home district, based in Palm Beach County, Florida, experienced something no one should ever see: The remains of their loved ones strewn across the grounds of Menorah Gardens like yesterday’s garbage.
In Cleaning up the Barrel, U.S. Representative Mark Foley, R-Fla., urges funeral directors to stay active and involved in their communities so that tragedies like Menorah Gardens never happen again. Foley represents Florida’s 16th congressional district in the House of Representatives.
