Summary of 2009 Comparison of State Preneed Laws With NFDA’s Preneed Guidelines

A report on each state's preneed law requirements with regard to six important consumer protection features: states that modified their laws since 1999, types of consumer disclosure required in preneed contracts under state law, primary trusting levels required by state law, states permitting sellers to withdraw trust earnings prior to performance, states that guarantee portability rights and states permitting imposition of revocation or transfer fees on consumers transferring preneed funds.
