Recruitment and Retention: The State of the Funeral Industry
The final report of a three-year study on recruitment and retention in funeral service focusing on both employees and owners/employers, with up-to-date information on salary and benefits, job flexibility and satisfaction, racial and gender diversity, the "ideal" employee and the "ideal" funeral home. Plus, recommendations for future directions and best practices.
The retention and recruitment study was conducted in association with The Sienna Research Institute, part of Sienna College in Albany, New York. The New York State Funeral Directors Association and its partner charitable foundation, The New York State Tribute Foundation, along with the state associations of Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Massachusetts helped fund the research, provided valuable input regarding the studies and recruited study participants.
