As the trusted leader and worldwide resource for the funeral service profession, NFDA provides data and information on trends, statistics, issues, and best practices across all facets of death care to inform and educate members, other stakeholders, and the public. To accomplish this goal, NFDA conducts both primary and secondary research on vital topics and issues.
NFDA maintains the Howard C. Raether Library, a unique collection of books, periodicals, proceedings and other materials dealing specifically with funeral service and related death care topics. Located at NFDA in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the library is a non-lending research collection, open to students and researchers by appointment only.
NFDA members, affiliated funeral service associations and mortuary schools are entitled to one free hour of research assistance annually; each additional hour of service by NFDA research staff is $40. Copying is charged at 10 cents per page; postage, envelopes or other supplies as needed are charged at cost. NFDA research services are also available to nonmembers or affiliates at higher rates. All research services depend upon research staff availability. Call NFDA at 1-800-228-6332 for details.
Through the NFDA Resource Store, a one-stop source for comprehensive funeral service information, NFDA members and others can order selected studies and research reports.
