NFDA is a vibrant organization that must be sensitive to the needs of its members. For NFDA to remain on the cutting edge of the funeral service profession it must have progressive leadership. I believe that I am qualified to help NFDA continue in this direction and would like to be your secretary. I am a product of NFDA’s effort to inform and educate its members. Since I have experienced the benefit of NFDA membership it would be my privilege to help NFDA continue to provide important information to its members. I will also work to help NFDA continue to implement and provide quality educational opportunities that will help all of us to better serve our families and to advocate for our profession.
I have been privileged to have been chosen to hold several leadership positions in my community. I have been elected to our county school board for three terms. During my tenure on this board we endured many hardships but our leadership team was able bring about substantive change for the betterment of the system. I have also been blessed to serve on the Alabama Funeral Directors Association Board and have seen this organization grow and prosper during my tenure and beyond. Those that we serve in our communities have certainly changed the way they perceive our profession. We are the standard bearers for our profession and the benefits it provides those we serve. I firmly believe it is up to us to communicate the importance of funeral service and the opportunities that we offer families. NFDA is there to give us the information and expertise that we need to make our message known.
I believe that I am uniquely qualified to hold the position of Secretary on the NFDA Board of Directors. The Policy Board elected me to two separate terms as their At Large Representative on the Board of Directors. Twice they have trusted me to represent them and funeral service. While in this position, I have acquired much knowledge about the operations of NFDA and have been privileged to be a part of many positive changes. I would like to keep this knowledge and experience working for the members of NFDA. Having this experience will help me to begin to work for you the minute I am installed into this office. I would be extremely honored to serve as your secretary.
