As a valued member, you are NFDA ... and that means you have a voice in the governance of your association!
The new NFDA governance structure, adopted during the 2015 NFDA International Convention & Expo, brought exciting, historic changes to NFDA, including a revitalized process for electing the men and women who serve on the Board of Directors.
The NFDA Board of Directors, consisting of nine members, initiates and develops internal and external policies and strategies, oversees the operation of NFDA programs and resources, approves the NFDA annual budget, and assumes such other responsibilities as may be delegated to it by the NFDA Bylaws.
Each of the candidates running for office has been vetted by the 2017 NFDA Leadership Development Committee and has been declared a qualified candidate for office. Select the office of interest from the sidebar menu to learn all about this year's candidates.
Proposed Bylaws Changes
Along with electing officers to serve on the Board of Directors, qualified association members* are responsible for approving proposed changes to the NFDA Bylaws.
During the 2015 NFDA International Convention & Expo, the association enacted a new governance structure. Part of this change included combining NFDA’s Constitution and Bylaws into a single, new comprehensive governing document: the NFDA Bylaws.
The new NFDA Bylaws were fully-implemented last year and, since then, NFDA leaders have noted opportunities to strengthen and clarify the document.
This August, when you vote for the officers who will lead your association, you will also vote on a package of proposed enhancements to the NFDA Bylaws. Select Proposed Changes: NFDA Bylaws from the sidebar menu to learn more.
