Qualified candidates will be announced March 1.
The NFDA Board of Directors initiates and develops internal and external policies and strategies, oversees the operation of NFDA programs and resources, approves the NFDA annual budget, and assumes such other responsibilities as may be delegated to it by the NFDA Bylaws. The board consists of nine members.
NFDA is seeking Board of Directors member applications for the 2018-2019 leadership year. NFDA’s next leadership year begins at the conclusion of the NFDA International Convention in October 2018 and ends at the conclusion of following convention in October 2019.
Open positions are: President-elect (one-year term), Treasurer (one-year term), Secretary (one-year term) and two (2) At-large Representatives (two-year terms). The President-elect, after completing his or her term, automatically succeeds to the office of the President.
Members of the NFDA Board of Directors are expected to travel a minimum of 20-30 days each year. Before submitting an application for an open position, please consider whether or not the health and welfare of your business can be sustained in your absence over this period of time. Employees of member firms need the full support of their employers to carry out all responsibilities associated with serving as a member of the NFDA Board of Directors.
Officers will be elected by the NFDA membership via electronic voting in August. At-large Representatives will be elected by NFDA Policy Board members on Saturday, July 7, at the Policy Board meeting scheduled in conjunction with the NFDA 2018 Leadership Conference in Asheville, NC. Following speeches by each candidate present at the meeting, the Policy Board will elect two new At-large Representatives in two separate elections.
